Trae Young has had a DOPE and impressive past 3 years. Young is a 6'2 175 llb PG from Norman, OK. In High School he was ranked nationally 30th by 247 Sports. He went to Norman North High School.
Young was considered by most scouting sites as the 3 or 4th best PG in the country. Ranked behind players.. Marvin Bagely, Collin Sexton, Deandre Ayton, Trevon Duval, Brian Bowen, Nick Richards, Shai Gilgeous- Alexxander and Jaylen Hands. His sr year he was averaging 42.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game while also shooting 48.9% from the field. He went on to play in the McDonalds All-American Game and the Jordan brand classic but was snubbed from the Nikes Hoops Summit.
He commited to Oklahoma Sooners, staying in his home state for college. He was the Sooners first 5 Star recruit since Tiny Gallon in 2010. Here he went to lead the nation in points and assist averaging 27.4 points, 8.7 assist, and 3.9 rebounds per game. The Sooners finished the season 18-14 (8-10, 6th in the Big 12 ) losing in the 1st Rd of the NCAA Tournament to Rhode Island, Young had 28 this game. He scored 40+ points 4 times and 30+ 5 times. Still in mock drafts he was a mid to late 1st RD pick. BUT!!! if your remember i had him #1 the whole year.

Young went on to be drafted #5 by the Dallas Mavericks but would be traded to Atlanta Hawks for Luka Doncic who was the #3 pick. His Rookie Year with the Hawks he averaged 19 points, and 8.1 assist a game. Losing the ROTY award to Luka Doncic. He played and started in 81 games shooting 41% from the field and 32% 3pt and beyond.
His 2nd Year in the League which was cut short due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Playing and starting in 60 games, he improved his scoring by nearly 10 points per game. 29.6 points, and 9.3 ast. shooting 44% from the field and 36% from the 3, both improvements from the previous season. He was also selected to play in the NBA All Star game.
From the looks of it. He's looking better than Steph Curry at the same age.
